Often reviewed as having the “intellectual lyricism” and “ethereal harmonies” of Simon and Garfunkel, after decades of possessing a rich musical legacy of their own, it made sense that critically acclaimed Aztec Two-Step would also choose to interpret and perform the timeless songs and harmonies of their iconic predecessors and create this engaging evening of songs and stories. The evening will be filled with the beautifully interpreted songs – Aztec Two-Step style - as well as the fascinating stories and their usual light-hearted on-stage banter.
Originally narrated by the late legendary WNEW & WFUV DJ and rock historian Pete Fornatale, the baton of the show’s “storyteller” has now been passed to mutual friend and protégé Tony Traguardo, who is also the archivist for the Long Island, NY Music Hall of Fame. Tony, with his own flair and sense of humor, shares the Simon & Garfunkel musical history and anecdotes based on Pete’s original “script” of his many years of friendship and interviews with Paul & Art, and his publication “Simon & Garfunkel’s Bookends.” And as a special addition to this show, the musical performance will be interwoven with a multi-media presentation.
“….a great night of stories and songs ... outstanding performances by Rex and Neal with insightful, entertaining musings. Wonderful, wonderful!! The audience just loved every minute of it.”
