Artist Bio

HELLO… I’m a standup comedian based in New York City and I’ve been doing standup for over 20 years. I was born and raised in Buffalo NY, and now my wife and I live in Rockland County NY with our cat, a dog, and a baby girl. Not to mention my wife’s mom and her boyfriend also live with us. Yes, pretty brutal.

My material is mostly clean, which leads me to a lot of corporate gigs and private shows where no profanity is allowed. I also headline comedy clubs all over the world where anything goes. I’ve been on TV a number of times, highlighted by appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. I was also on Star Search but that was pretty lame. The other two shows were really fun and awesome experiences.

The topics I talk about change all the time of course but lately I seem to be focusing on my marriage, fatherhood, technology / social networking and just everyday things that I get obsessed with.

I’m the host of NPR’s and WNYC’s new weekly trivia, puzzle, and game show Ask Me Another. It currently airs on your radio or you can download the episodes from iTunes or from the NPR website. It’s half raucous pub trivia, half comedy talk show with witty banter, celebrity guests, and live music blended in. It’s a good time.

Recently I performed on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. I’ve also appeared on Comedy Central, VH-1, The Today Show, TV Guide Channel’s Standup In Stilettos, Fox, E! Channel, CNN, Oxygen Network, and the AXS Network. Back in Canada, I appeared in my very own comedy special for CTV’s Comedy Now.

My debut memoir, Screw Everyone: Sleeping My Way to Monogamy (Seal Press, April 2nd, 2013) is available now at your book store or order it through: Amazon, B&N.com, IndieBound, Powell’s, ChaptersIndigo. Read some press & reviews. It was also recently optioned by Zucker Productions for a feature film.

My writing has been featured in five other anthologies including, I Killed: True Stories of the Road from America’s Top Comics alongside that of Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, Dennis Miller and Joan Rivers, Rejected: Tales of the Failed, Dumped, and Canceled, and Heeb Magazine’s Sex, Drugs, and Gelfite Fish. I have also contributed to US Weekly’s Fashion Police and YourTango.com.

I regularly tell stories and tour with The Moth and you can see me host one of their monthly Slams on the 3rd Thursday of every month at Housingworks Bookstore Cafe in Soho, NY. My stories have also been featured on their Audience Favorites CD, podcast, and award winning radio show.

When not doing the above, am I: a) Macrameing? b) Meditating? c) Medicating? Close – I’m performing standup. You can find me at pretty much any club around New York City, and at exclusive venues and bars when I tour on the road. It’s all here.
