Artist Bio

Charmagne Tripp, is a Grammy Award-winning vocalist and lyricist. She has entertained audiences professionally for over 20 years.

Performing in the styles of Pop, Jazz, R&B, Swing, and Blues, her warm, clear tone captivates listeners and leaves them wanting more. Aside from writing and recording five albums, she has toured internationally, held residencies in Asia and performed in various professional musical theater productions.

After writing and performing the hook on Eminem's smash hit "We Made You", Charmagne earned a Grammy when his album Relapse won Best Rap Album in 2009.

A Hartford native and lover of animals, Charmagne is honored to produce this Whitney Houston tribute concert also benefiting the CT Humane Society. She considers herself a student of Houston's music, having spent countless hours as a young adult studying her tone and vocal quality. Later, she attended the Hartford Conservatory to receive a more formal education.

Currently, she spends more of her time off stage. She has shifted her focus to production, supporting community efforts and mentoring young artists. In 2013, Charmagne established Gripp Productions, a music and theater company whose mission is to create and cultivate new and original work.
