Artist Bio

Writing, crafting, and performing great songs is one thing that a lot of folks struggle with. Doing that all while making OTHER people's songs sound amazing is an entirely different beast. A beast that Eric Lichter has mastered again and again and is displayed strongly in all of the recordings that come out of his studio, Dirt Floor, in Chester Ct. Lichter's handy work as a producer, engineer, and studio musician is quite impressive.-Redline Roots, Boston MA. He's an obvious product of the Laurel Canyon sound, popularized by CSN, Neil Young, Jackson Browne, Joni Mitchell, and most recently Fleet Foxes, Dawes, Father John Misty and Beck. With two beautiful records under his belt (Chorduroy and OWL respectively) he’s busy at Dirt Floor (his recording studio) working on a follow up, with contributions from musical friends James Maple, Morganeve Swain, Jonah Tolchin, Kerri Powers and more.

Forts/Gainesville

Forts/Gainesville may have been formed with the purpose of seeing old friends, making new ones and eating tacos in all 50 states...but they also make music. Comprised of two member's of the Boston band Tallahassee, these two are no strangers. Matt and Brian create songs using instruments, mouths, and brains. Matt plays drums, keys, trade-marked sequence triggers, and vocals, all at once. Brian is lead entertainer, plays guitar and vocals; he is also very tall. Forts/Gainesville uses a patented "Bass Roulette Wheel" to determine which friend will sit in for the show. For fans of Fleetwood Mac, John Prine, and hairy dudes. Lets dance, lets cry, lets guess who may be on stage. All live all the time, sort of.

Ian Fitzgerald was reared in a small Massachusetts town; resides now in a different small Massachusetts town; and lived in Rhode Island for a spell in between. Regardless of where he's been, Ian has maintained a lifelong passion for music which has only grown in the decade that he has been writing songs and playing them for audiences throughout New England and up and down the east coast. In that time, Ian's compelling lyrics and indelible melodies have won him first place in the Boston Folk Festival Songwriting Contest (for the song "Lillian") and earned him a spot in the Emerging Artist Showcase at the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival and a Quad Showcase performance at the 2013 Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) Conference. In their review of his latest album, No Time To Be Tender [2013], Performer Magazine called Ian "a polished songsmith who is high atop a field of great artists breaking through to festival and folk concerts throughout the States." That breakthrough continues as Ian tours in support of that record, including recent performances at the NXNE Festival and the kickoff show for this year's Newport Folk Festival.

James Maple

Connect with this artist:

"James Maple as Country as anything you are ever going to hear out of the Nutmeg State, yet at the same time still manages to maintain that sort of Americana/indie-folk aesthetic that made GraveRobbers a popular band amongst the indie rock crowd. You didn’t need a flannel shirt or boots to enjoy GraveRobbers but with Maple’s new project you may want to dust them off. He is a direct descendant of the great lineage of songwriters who just seethe “America”. Visions of things like old factory towns, long, dusty highways, and mama hanging the laundry on the line while the kids play in the yard abound here. He’s as good a story-teller as you’re going to hear and most of his stories are filled with the kind of heartache and sorrow that unfortunately too many of us can so easily relate to." - Chip McCabe/CTnow.com
