It was 1956 when John Mayall was able to pursue his interest. He started playing blues in semi-professional bands such as "The Powerhouse Four" and "The Blues Syndicate". Alex Korner influenced him so much that he moved to London to form "John Mayall's Bluesbreakers".
Eric Clapton quit "The Yardbirds" to join John Mayall in playing the blues. Together they released their first album and it resulted in worldwide legendary status. Later Clapton and Jack Bruce left the band to form the legendary band "Cream". 1969 saw John's popularity increasing in USA and at that time he released his live album entitled "The Turning Point".
Throughout the 70s, John started featuring famous performers such as Blue Mitchell, Red Holloway, Larry Taylor and Harvey Mandel. He has always featured great musicians and toured with them endlessly. Artists such as John Lee Hooker, T-Bone Walker, and Sonny Boy Williamson.
John Mayall still continues to remain true to the timeless music, for over the past decades he has done a great deal to popularize the blues all over the globe.
