Meet The McLovins, the jam-rock band that Rolling Stone called “a trio of Connecticut kids who have managed to harness the musical ferocity of Trey Anastasio, Les Claypool and Stewart Copeland before being able to legally drive a car.” In fact, Rolling Stone liked them so much they brought them to their offices for a visit, an interview and to video tape three of their original songs, posting one as a podcast on Itunes.
And if that wasn’t enough, RELIX Magazine just featured The McLovins in their “On the Verge” bands section in the November issue. In October, RELIX name The McLovins’ cover of YEM into Backwards Down the Number Line as the Gathering of the Vibes festival’s best cover!
The McLovins didn’t even have a name when they first formed the band last year, but they did have an instant connection musically. They posted a video of themselves playing a cover of the epic Phish song YEM that quickly went viral and led to the jam scene fondly embracing them.
Recent accomplishments include last summer’s Gathering of the Vibes Festival in Bridgeport, CT, performing on the Green Vibes Stage to a tent full of screaming fans, afterword many said they stole the festival. The McLovins play throughout New England, and will be performing at this year's Snoe. Down Music Fesitval in Killington, VT.
The McLovins released their debut album last July titled “Conundrum” which features nine original songs. In December, they release their first EP titled "Virtual Circle" featuring two (very danceable) songs that will be on next summer’s album. Other new originals, songs from Conundrum, and select covers can be heard and downloaded on the Live Music Archive. The band has posted over 20 Youtube videos on their channel, drummercl.
