Infinity Music Hall and The Yale Summer of School of Music proudly present a wonderful matinee concert to benefit the Norfolk Library.

We are delighted to have two of the best a cappella groups in the world to the Infinity Stage! From Yale, we have the world's oldest and most famous collegiate a cappella group, The Whiffenpoofs, and from Trinity College, we have the all-female Quirks. Both groups will sing songs from many different genres in their own unique style, as well as Holiday favorites!

The Whiffenpoofs

Every year, 14 senior Yale men are selected to be in the Whiffenpoofs, the world's oldest and most famous collegiate a cappella group. Founded in 1909, the "Whiffs" began as a senior quartet that met for weekly concerts at Mory's Temple Bar, the famous Yale tavern. Today, the group has become one of Yale's most celebrated traditions.  The Whiffenpoofs have recently been featured on television programs like The Sing-Off, Gilmore Girls, and The West Wing, and have sung at venues as venerable as The White House, Carnegie Hall, and Lincoln Center.

The Trinity College Quirks

The Trinity College Quirks are the youngest all-female a cappella group  from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. Founded nearly a decade ago as part of a senior project, they have rapidly grown into a well-respected and dynamic group known for their trademark energy. With a repertoire featuring a wide range of musical genres, the Quirks have  garnered a diverse fan base both on campus and around the world. Recent appearances include a recent Boston Red Sox game at Fenway Park, the 2012 Silver Chord Bowl, Infinity Music Hall, the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, the last three annual Hartford Business Journal's Women in Business Awards, in addition to a feature on the website of the UK  magazine, New Music Express. They were featured on both NBC Connecticut and NPR last October (Click here to listen). In December, the Quirks will be featured in an article on a cappella in Hartford Magazine! In celebration of their ten-year anniversary, the Quirks' third album will be released in winter 2013.
