Interweaving elements of beautiful melody and heavy disdain, Ibis’ music tips a cap to the odd-time compositions of Porcupine Tree and Soundgarden, while realizing the melodic accessibility of Dave Matthews Band. Fresh off the release of their debut EP, “Favors for Strangers,” the quintet’s first single “Redirectionalized” has already received airplay on Hartford’s Radio 104.1. Ibis’ unique brand of alternative/progressive rock has also been featured in publications such as Connecticut Magazine.
Ibis is a constantly-evolving faction of internal and external influences, detailed compositions, and gratifying improvisations. “Ibis has impressed me with their range of styles and arrangements. Ibis will make you want to think, and Ibis will make you want to ROCK!” — Fred Schane, Production Manager / F.O.H. Sound Engineer, Infinity Hall. Ibis’ songs touch upon a broad number of themes, but most often deal with themes of empathy, tolerance, and societal apathy. Songs like, “Allegory” and “Again” call for people to question the existential nature of “accepted truths,” and to realize that everyone has a voice and a unique perspective. As their audience grows, Ibis seeks to spread these messages while wielding their own unique perspective and voice.
Fight the Fear is psycho-progressive-disco-funk-pop-rock... let's just call it Rock-n-Soul. Having just won the title of BEST OVER ALL BAND in the 2nd Annual Connecticut Music Awards, Fight the Fear is quickly becoming one of Connecticut's biggest bands. Fight the Fear is musicianship, awareness, and passion; but mostly we're just spicy rock and roll.
