Daniel Salazar, known to Connecticut audiences for his widely popular Guitar Under The Stars concerts, will perform selections from his exciting repertoire that fuses Spanish guitar with Latin and World rhythms. Joining him will be an outstanding group of renowned international musicians: guitarist Lorena Garay from Puerto Rico, flutist Gonzalo Cortes from Chile who also plays Andean flutes, Esteban Arrufat from Puerto Rico playing Latin Percussion, pianist Abraham Sanchez from Venezuela, Eliezer Martinez from Panama on drums and bassist Genevieve Rose, one of the few female virtuosos on that instrument.
The event is part of The UConn Hartford Maxwell Shepherd Memorial Concert Series, dedicated to the former Emeritus Professor of Music and founder of the series who passed away in 2000.
