Bio

      Anthony was born and raised in Pine Plains, NY. Please don’t hold that against him. He originally picked up a guitar to try to impress the ladies, to no avail. Influenced by acts such as The Band, Mumford & Sons, and Judah & the Lion, Anthony writes and sings songs close to his heart.

Famous Before We’re Dead w/ Hal Lefferts

Famous Before We’re Dead, a mostly acoustic band of seasoned musicians who are also lifelong friends, make original music and creative cover tunes for 21st century adults  In a stressed-out era, we share songs of hope, challenge, compassion and humor. Grounded in Americana our roots also include singer-songwriters like Tom Waits, John Hiatt, Joni Mitchell, Bob Marley and the Grateful Dead. FBWD is:

  • Hal Lefferts: Guitar, vocals, songwriting with a passion for reggae, American roots and blues as well Fred Neil, Randy Newman and Bruce Cockburn.
  • James Lumsden: Bass, vocals, songwriting guided by the grooves of Lou Reed, Carrie Newcomer and George Harrison.
  • John Burns: Electric/acoustic guitar, songwriting, music instruction with a degree from Berklee School of Music and inspiration from Frank Zappa, jazz and Celtic tunes.

 

In June 2018, FBWD won the Infinity Hall Main Stage Music Competition.  They have performed at Infinity Bistro (Norfolk, CT), local farmers markets in NY and CT, Dottie’s Coffee Lounge in Pittsfield, MA, and sponsored a musical fundraiser to help unite migrant children with their families on the Texas border.
