Jeff Pevar & Scott Murawski’s “Guitarness" w/ Special Guests

Guitarness features two of New England's finest, established guitar players, Jeff Pevar and Scott Murawski along with ace rhythm section, Dave Livolsi & Jon Peckman.

Jeff Pevar was inducted into the NY Blues Hall Of Fame in 2016 and has performed with a long list or music’s finest including, Ray Charles, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Bette Midler, Phil Lesh & Friends, Jazz Is Dead, Joe Cocker, Rickie Lee Jones and many others. In the last few years Jeff rejoined touring with longtime pal, David Crosby and Jeff is also touring in the US and Europe with his wife, Inger Jorgensen, performing original songs on their new CD “Anthem”.

Scott Murawski has been a driving force in the popular jamband, Max Creek for decades, as well as touring with Phish bassist, Mike Gordon for many years and composes songs for both projects. Scott is one of Jeff’s favorite guitarists. When Jeff & Scott play together, sparks fly and the band always delights and thrills listeners with extended, improvisational arrangements, featuring blistering guitar solos and experimental grooves and approaches.

Because of the special holiday timing, a special guest or two is surely to join in for added fun!

Artist Bio

Jeff’s first major break was in 1983 when Jeff was invited to audition for Rickie Lee Jones. For many years Jeff toured in the US and Europe with Rickie and her band including his first performance at Red Rocks Ampitheatre and his first tour in Europe and Israel.

Around 1984 Jeff arranged an audition with Ray Charles and toured playing guitar with the Ray Charles Orchestra from 1984-1986 in the US, Asia and Europe. Jeff also performed with Ray in the Ray Charles Quartet during off season performances with various symphony orchestras. Ray invited Jeff into his recording studio and Jeff plays guitar on 3 songs the Ray Charles release, “The Spirit Of Christmas”.

In 1985 Jeff was invited to record with James Taylor on his “That’s Why I’m Here” album. James recommended Jeff to (then) up and coming singer songwriter, Marc Cohn, when Marc moved to NYC in the early 1990s and Jeff and Marc toured as a duo all over the US and Europe around 1991-1992 also opening for Crosby, Stills and Nash.

Crosby & Nash were very impressed with Pevar's musical prowess and invited Jeff to tour with the two of them in trio format. Performances included a trio performance at the world famous, Carnegie Hall, and a full band performance at Red Rocks in Colorado with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra.

In 1998 Jeff was invited to be a partner in the band CPR, along with David Crosby and his son, James Raymond. The trio put out four highly acclaimed records in the years that followed and performed all over the US and Europe, including at the Montreux Jazz Festival (which has an accompanying live CPR concert video). Jeff co-wrote many of CPR's songs.

In the spring of 2000 Jeff was invited to tour with Grateful Dead bassist, Phil Lesh and Friends alongside Widespread Panic guitarist, Jimmy Herring. Some of the special guests during those performances were Warren Haynes, Branford Marsalis and Derek Trucks. Shortly after that tour, Jeff was then invited to tour with the jamband, Jazz Is Dead, for many years, performing interpretive versions of Grateful Dead material including T Lavitz, Rod Morgenstein, Alphonso Johnson, Billy Cobham, Kenny Gradney, Dave Livolsi, Jeff Sipe, Jerry Goodman and others.

Jeff toured with Graham Nash for an ensemble tour in 2004 alongside Dean Parks, Russ Kunkel, Larry Klein and James Raymond and shortly thereafter was invited to be involved with the 2004 Crosby/Nash release, featuring the track “Jesus Of Rio” written by Nash & Pevar which also features special guest, James Taylor, on vocals!

Jeff toured as a bassist during the 40th anniversary of Woodstock with the iconic band, Jefferson Starship, performing Jefferson Airplane selections on the Heroes of Woodstock Tour also featuring Ten Years After, Big Brother & The Holding Co., Country Joe McDonald, Canned Heat and many other acts from the original Woodstock line up, performing at the original Woodstock site at Bethel Woods on the 40th anniversary of Woodstock to a sold out crowd of 15,000!

In 2012 Jeff released his debut CD, "From The Core" recorded and improvised in the Oregon Caves National Monument and includes the iconic special guest vocalist from YES, Jon Anderson, who sings on the co-written track, "River Of Dreams".

In 2014 and 2015 Jeff reunited with longtime friend Marc Cohn for tour dates in the US & Australia, some tour dates reuniting with Rickie Lee Jones and some gigs with the iconic artist and producer Alan Parsons.

In 2015, Jeff's dear friend, Morris Pleasure earned the status of band leader to the iconic artist, Bette Midler and contacted Jeff to tour playing guitar in her amazing band. Mo and Jeff toured the US and UK with Ms. Divine to 20,000 seats sold out every night! Last year on a night off from playing Madision Square Garden with Ms Midler, Mo and Jeff brought this amazing band to Infinity Hall Hartford and blew the roof off the place!

Recently Jeff released the Jazz Is Dead CD "Grateful Jazz" from recording sessions started in 2004 featuring late keyboardist, T Lavitz along with Rod Morganstien, Dave Livolsi, Alphonso Johnson and many other world renown guest musicians. This CD is getting rave reviews!!

Jeff was recently inducted into the NY Blues Hall Of Fame and was invited to perform at the 2016 Monterey Jazz Festival & The Hollywood Bowl for a Reunion of The Ray Charles Orchestra starring Maceo Parker.

In addition to his work as a session musician, film music composer, and hired touring musician, Pevar often performs with his own eponymous band in his home state of Connecticut and in the jam band, "Guitarness" with his longtime friend, guitarist extraordinaire, Scott Murawski, of Max Creek.
