The Slambovian Circus of Dreams emerged in 1998 from the misty hills of Sleepy Hollow, New York and exploded onto the Hudson Valley music scene with their stunning self-produced debut release, A Good Thief Tips His Tat. The quirky quartet then began touring throughout the Northeast and rapidly developed a fiercely loyal, all-ages following.

The band's charismatic live performances and whimsical blend of folk, rock, hillbilly and pop have captivated audiences and critics alike. On stage they create an enchanting atmosphere, combining traditional folk instruments with tasty electric guitar and the distinctive singing/songwriting of Joziah Longo.

Artist Bio

“They have an air of both Floyd and maybe Bowie at times atop their folkcountry roots (note, not fauxcountry) – but it’s done with a warmth and comfort of a mystical Nebraska or poetic Crazy Horse.” – Sleazegrinder, UK

Together since the late 90’s, The Slambovian Circus of Dreams began in Sleepy Hollow, NY as an art school project. Known for their electrifying live performances the band has toured nationally and abroad, playing a moody but upbeat alt-roots rock with an extensive instrumental arsenal (accordion, cello, mandolin, theremin).

Pioneers of the Americana genre, the band’s music is equal parts Washington Irving, Woodstock and a touch of British Invasion singing dusty Americana ballads against Pink Floydesque cinematic anthems. “The entire root system of Rock Family Trees is embedded in Longo’s voice.”- The Big Issue, Scotland, U.K.
Described as a "hillbilly Pink Floyd,” elements of Incredible String Band, Neil Young, The Band, Dylan, Bowie and Syd Barrett thrown in for good measure.

Headliners of major music festivals and venues across the US, Canada and UK, this band has a devoted cult following. Lead singer-songwriter Joziah Longo’s voice is described as “Soothing and bewitching as a snake oil tonic". He is joined by Sharkey McEwen (guitar, mandolin) and Tink Lloyd (accordion, cello, keys, flute).

Summer 2021 the band will return to the UK with Matthew Abourezk on drums and RJ Mac Carthaigh on bass.

“They take the stage by storm!” – NY Times
“Simply one of the finest American bands” –  All Music Guide
“More than a concert, an encounter...” – Levitt Concert Series, NY
"9 out of 10 - Love at first spin!" – Americana UK
“Longo is an awesome songwriter” – Garth Hudson, The Band
"The best band since The Beatles" – Jim Pons, John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band
