The Subdudes with The CarLeans

Everybody’s favorite, “The Subdudes” are back! This is rare appearance folks, they don’t tour often but when they do it’s a guaranteed night to remember. Soulful vocals, tight playin’ and lot’s of good vibes….kinda like New Orleans meets Memphis. A real band, real music and a real treat.

Artist Bio

Over the course of 25 years and ten albums, the Subdudes have quietly become one of America’s national music treasures.

The New Orleans-formed group is a living encapsulation of American music, a vibrant cauldron of sounds that stirs together meaty grooves and jazzy dynamics, soulful R&B swagger, easy vocal harmonies, cheeky rock ‘n’ roll attitude and folky social consciousness — not to mention some of the sharpest musicianship and ensemble playing you’ll ever hear from any five musicians.

Led by singer/guitarist Tommy Malone and accordionist, John Magnie, The Subdudes draw most of their inspiration from the sounds of their native New Orleans, blending blues, gospel, funk, and R&B with their own harmony vocals; their sound is also notable for the band’s substitution of a tambourine player, Steve Amedée,  for a drummer. Tim Cook rounds out the band on bass.

The CarLeans

The CarLeans are a musical collaboration between award winning singer-songwriters Jim Carpenter (guitar, vocals) and Sarah MacLean (guitar, vocals).  Along with Corina Malbaurn (vocals, bass) the Connecticut-based trio blends their diverse musical backgrounds to create a captivating sound that had been drawing much attention.

Steeped in passion for story telling and navigating the human experience, their original songs are raw and powerful — paired with a delivery and live performance that's honest and marked by well-placed musicianship and vocal presence. Their vast and eclectic original repertoire is rooted in Americana/Folk music, but extends through Country/Pop/Blues/Cajun . . . to include humorous material and a driving acoustic sound that often inspires the audience to its feet to dance.
